We strongly recommend that you use our home whitening treatment. It is proven to be effective and also allows us to keep a close eye on your teeth during treatment. This can help you avoid side effects, including gum irritation and tooth sensitivity.
We provide home whitening at Dartford Road Dental Centre, allowing you to whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home. At your initial appointment, we will take impressions of your teeth so that your bespoke mouth trays can be created.
When your trays are ready, we will check they fit comfortably and securely, and advise you how to use them with the whitening gel to achieve the best results. You will need to wear the trays and gel daily for the length of time advised by your dentist, usually a couple of weeks.
Once treatment is complete, we will invite you to the practice for a follow up appointment. We will check everything has gone to plan, and compare the new colour of your teeth to your previous shade.
If you have had root filling treatment in the past, you may find that the affected tooth becomes discoloured. We can remove part of the root filling and place bleaching gel inside your tooth for one to two weeks, depending on the severity of the discolouration. Once your desired shade has been reached, the gel is washed out of your tooth and the space filled with tooth-coloured composite filling material.
