Our hygienists play a key role in dentistry. They educate and motivate all of our wonderful patients, existing and new!

Our hygienists at Dartford Road Dental Centre educate our patients on the best way to look after their teeth and gums to keep them healthy and plaque free.

Prevention is the key to good oral health, as well as having your teeth professionally cleaned to remove the tartar (hardened plaque) which you cannot do yourself.

The hygienist will work alongside your dentist to give you the care that is best tailored to your individual needs.

For stubborn stains such as red wine, smoking and tea and coffee, we provide an additional service called AirFlow. Airflow is a powerful dental hygiene treatment that cleans and polishes your teeth using a combination of jet water, air and sodium bicarbonate.

One of the most important aspects of the hygienists role is educating the wonderful patients of our Kent based practice. While also demonstrating the importance of keeping dentally fit they will show you the most effective way to brush, floss and the best products to use.

Many patients recognise the affect your oral health can have on your general well being and our hygienists will spend ample time talking about dietary and lifestyle habits to improve and maintain a healthy mouth.

Patients with gum disease will see a hygienist three or four times a year. Depending on each individuals treatment, this will differ. Gum disease can cause serious problems such as bleeding gums and tooth loss. The hygienist is a fundamental part of the team at Dartford Road Dental Centre in keeping the disease under control.
