Restore your smile

Crowns offer an aesthetically-pleasing restoration for decayed, broken or discoloured teeth. They fit perfectly over the unsightly or damaged tooth, providing complete protection and restoring the strength, shape and appearance.

Crowns can be made from porcelain, ceramic or metal alloys, and are matched in size, shape and colour so they fit seamlessly into your smile.

What happens during treatment?

Initially, we will prepare your tooth by removing a layer of enamel, ensuring it is ready to accommodate the crown. We will then take impressions and images of your prepared tooth, taking care to record the shade of your natural teeth to ensure the crown is colour-matched perfectly.

To ensure your tooth remains protected between appointments, while your custom-made crown is created, we will cover it with a temporary restoration. When your new crown is ready, we will remove the temporary one and fix the new one in place using a strong dental cement.

When looked after carefully, through maintaining a good oral hygiene routine with regular brushing and flossing, and avoiding very hard foods, your crown can last for many years. Your dentist will also keep an eye on your crown during your regular check ups.
